Description

Resident Evil Zero takes place directly before Resident Evil and shows how the mansion incident came to be. You control Billy Coen and Rebecca Chambers with a new Character Switching system, allowing you to switch from one person to another when you wish.

Characters

Lt. Billy Coen - A former United States Marine wrongly accused and sentenced to death for the murder of a total of 23 people. He seems like the rugged bad-boy right off the bat, but as Rebecca travels with him throughout the game, she finds that there is much more to him than meets the eye.

Rebecca Chambers - The 18 year old tomboy of a child genius recruited to S.T.A.R.S. fresh out of college. One of her first missions became much more than a normal investigation, and turned into a horrible night that she will never forget.

Albert Wesker - The calm, cool, and always collected captain of the S.T.A.R.S.' Alpha Team. During the events of Resident Evil he seems to be stuck in the same situation as everyone else, but that seems much different in Resident Evil Zero.

Dr. William Birkin - Mad Scientist who has an unhealthy obsession with the T-Virus and it's effects on hosts. After years of research, he creates a new, even more deadly version: The G-Virus. He is the father of Sherry Birkin, a plot related character in Resident Evil 2.

Dr. James Marcus - One of the Forefathers of the discovery, and creators of the T-Virus. He was betrayed by one of his partners, Ozwell E. Spencer, and was assassinated. He reanimates into human form in Resident Evil Zero through the help of his beloved leeches.

Ecliptic Express

The Ecliptic Express was a first-class, inter-city, luxurious train. It was owned by the Umbrella Corporation, with its Train Number being: 7268-563-M23.

Its interior expressed its status. The train has six carriages: a kitchen with cargo room, a bar and saloon, four carriages with exquisite beds and a dining room. There was also a balcony at the rear end.

However, the Ecliptic Express was made into a train of the dead, as Dr. James Marcus released the Tyrant Virus on the train on July 23, 1998 - the Arklay Incident. The train was quickly overrun and all the passangers, mostly Umbrella Corporation researchers, were turned into blood thirsty zombies.

The Arklay Facility incident began in May, 1998. Bravo Team's Rebecca Chambers found a train leading into a mansion (the Spencer Mansion). She was with 2nd Lieutenant Billy Coen, and they found that James Marcus had not only infected the entire train with T-Virus, but had released it into the Research and Training Facilities, killing hundreds.
