[edit] Premise

Resident Evil 4 is set six years after the T-Virus (Zombie) outbreak in Raccoon City, Leon began his first day as an Rookie R.P.D. cop. Now Leon works directly for the U.S. government, and he is about to begin one of his most important missions to date: He must rescue the President's kidnapped daughter from Spain and bring her home safely. Along the way, he will run into old friends, discover new sicknesses and realize that the end of Umbrella is far from sight.

[edit] Resident Evil 4 - In the making

Resident Evil 4 had three different gameplay plans when it was in development; first one was the original view where the player gets to see everything and control everything from different camera perspectives (Similar to the older RE versions). This plan was scraped by the director, and recreated into a ‘Third-Person Horror Shooter’.

The ‘Third-Person Horror Shooter’ wasn’t entirely in third-person, most of the running and walking around is from a camera angle and the shooting was in third-person (This is also when CAPCOM developers decided to introduce the ‘laser’ aiming system into the game). This plan of the game was also scraped; developers thought it was too medieval (Name of the original plan: RESIDENT EVIL 4: The Hooked Man)

CAPCOM developers decided to totally stick with the ‘Third-Person Shooter’ plan. CAPCOM erased all non-third-person shooter cameras making the game 100% Third-Person. The game turned from a ‘Horror-Survival’ into an ‘Action-Horror’ title.

Although CAPCOM made this many changes of camera angles and weapons options etc. the game was a complete success, getting exceedingly good reviews.
