 Plot Summary
The game follows similar events to those of the games which it follows from the originals. The game takes the player through varying scenarios and goes a bit astray from what the original games actually had in the storyline. Some additions have been made and there have been some changes. The game will also take the player to a new base which Umbrella have located in Russia in attempt to revive what they had. This base has never been previously seen.
 Game Play
The game style of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is a rail shooter. The player has to practically by time until they are moved by a cue or prompt or they defeat all the enemies on screen. This is better for playtime. Throughout the game the player will notice some enemies have critical spots which they can inflict a lot more damage and in some cases these lead to one hit kills. The levels are comprised of having a check point halfway through the level so that the player has somewhere they can feel safe and know they can come back to if they further die. Throughout the play the player can pick up first aid sprays which allow the player to be fully healed if they are playing and there health bar runs out.
The levels rank the player according to how they scored throughout the various categories. Factors in this include critical hits, items destroyed, files collected, enemies killed and the time which it took the player to complete the level. For certain things in the game the player must achieve certain ranking to unlock these further things. Overall ranking can be brought down a lot if one of the ranks is lower then the rest. For example a player may have all S rankings except for one which is a B which will bring the rank down to an A.
