History

The city was governed by mayor Michael Warren who was elected into his position in the election of 1987. During his campaign the town began to change from a rural based town to more of an industrial styled town, though as the town increased so did the crime within the town. Even sometimes acts of what was called terrorism. But in 1996 a group called S.T.A.R.S were created. Though during his time of governor the company known as Umbrella were becoming a large part of peoples everyday lives.

The Arklay Mountains incident

In the May of 1998 and the following months there was an increasing amount of cases of people being mauled by dogs or bitten/eaten by other humans or creatures. On the 23rd of July S.T.A.R.S were deployed to investigate the incident. Bravo team were forced to make an emergency landing and then Alpha team had to go in and help. This let to the eventual events that were seen in Resident Evil. Of the 12 people who were deployed for the incident only 5 managed to return alive.

Raccoon City Incident

Two months after the incidents of Resident Evil Umbrella attempted to retrieve the G-Virus from William Birkin. Though they failed in the process vials of the T-Virus were dropped. They had been collected by rats and then spread throughout the city. This led to the incidents of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak: File 2. It wasn't until the 29th of September when everyone had been killed or become a zombie them self. It wasn't until some time between September 30th and October 1st 1998 that the United States government decided to sterilize the town by destroying everything in it. The search for survivors began in the city in early October 1998 and it wasn't until late February 2000 that there was no survivors found. There were still small strains of the T-Virus and G-Virus left throughout the city and in the end of Resident Evil Outbreak it is seen that Umbrella moved back in. Only to go out of business later on, declared in Resident Evil 4.
